This project tells, through its objects, fragments of my childhood memories. Like Ariadne’s thread through a memory palace, they become a path back, a method for navigating the past. The memories that are conveyed are not tied to specific situations, but rather a hazy convergence of how I experience them today.
The ceramic objects carry an implied fragility, inviting careful handling. Through this осторожness, a relationship is formed between the viewer and the objects, a type of contact that I strive for. The illustrations on the surface are incomplete, opening up space for the viewer’s own interpretations and reflections.
In the encounter, the vase becomes like a child in one’s arms, a symbol of the fragile and the precious within our memories. The viewer is guided through their own memory palace, where the objects act as signposts to personal experiences and emotions connected to the past.
”Vi hade alla varsin gren, likt en tron utsmyckad med gröna äpplen”
“We each had our own branch, like a throne adorned with green apples”
“‘The pond we all happened to bathe in’”
”Dammen vi alla råkat bada i"
The water lilies in the pond carry no story of their own,
But I remember our games, our laughter.
Here, sunny evenings were reflected in the surface,
goldfish swirled among the leaves and time was soft like the light dancing across the facade.
I see the pond from every angle in my memory palace, from the playroom window on the second floor,
from the stones at the edge, from the hill behind the house.
I see it from above, where we sat in the tree, in our own thrones
There, in the interplay between sun and water,
a part of my childhood remains.
”Varma vindar, ett mjukt gungande och en båt vid namn Elvira 2”
“Warm winds, a gentle swaying and a boat named Elvira 2”
